Q. What is Mavericks Monday?
Mavericks Monday is a 24-hour giving campaign that inspires alumni, students, friends, faculty and staff, and supporters to come together, show their pride in Medaille College Athletics, and provide essential funding to support current and future students. This annual event shines a spotlight on giving to the College and creates a sense of energy around philanthropy.
Q. When is it?
Mavericks Monday will take place on Monday, October 25, 2021.
Q. Who can donate?
Anyone with a credit card and access to the internet.
Q. What forms of donations are accepted?
MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. Donations via check can be mailed to Laura Edholm, Medaille College, 18 Agassiz Circle, Buffalo, NY 14214.
Q. Will I receive a receipt for tax purposes?
Yes. You will automatically receive an emailed receipt acknowledging your gift.
Q. Is there a minimum gift?
There is a $5 minimum donation.
Q. How much of my donation goes to Mavericks Monday Giving Day?
There is a 3.5% processing fee and a 2.5% (+ $.30) bank fee for donations made using all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express). For ACH gifts, the minimum transaction is $100 and the flat fee is $3.00 per transaction. You have the option to cover these costs in addition to your gift. If you choose not to do so, your tax deductible gift will be your gift amount less processing and bank fees.
Q. Is my payment secure?
Absolutely - The Giving Day is facilitated by GiveGab, a company who has partnered with Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the most stringent level of certification possible) to process all gifts made through GivingDay.org. Read through Stripe's security documentation online.
Q. Can I send a gift by mail or phone?
Yes. However, due to the tight period of Giving Day, only gifts made online or by phone count toward overall totals. If you would like to make a gift by phone on October 25, please call (716) 880-2130.
Q. Can I help promote Giving Day?
Please do! We encourage you to share on your Facebook page, tweet, blog, yell, put signs on your lawn. It's all encouraged!
Q. How will the donation be reported on my credit card?
Gifts made on the Giving Day will appear on donors' credit cards as Medaille College.
